Regional Sales Representative

Midwest

Certis Biologicals is a leading manufacturer and marketer of biological and botanical products for pest management. Headquartered in Columbia Maryland, Certis has strategic positions across the US servicing the specialty AG markets. Our growing portfolio is necessitating the addition of a highly motivated and knowledgeable professional to serve as its Regional Sales Manager for the Mid-West. This region includes the states or regions of MN, MI, IN, IL, OH, WI. Predominate markets in this territory include potatoes, sugar beets, soybean, corn, tree fruit, and other specialty crops.

Summary

This position is accountable to develop a customer base within a geographical area in the Agriculture Chemical industry.  In addition, this position is accountable for obtaining business results as established through business planning and goal setting.

  • Within the crop protection industry and current Distribution channels the Sales Manager will devise marketing plans and strategies and is accountable for managing a defined client base to meet and exceed territory sales budget and operating targets.
  • Inspire to become involved in the business decision-making process of Certis customers and aid them in maximizing profitability.
  • Maintain and analyze a database/record of customer profiles (e.g. commodities consulted, main pests, and product requirements) to prioritize customer contacts. This will aid in understanding the overall territory scope and help recommend programs and services to meet and exceed customer needs while tracking business goals.
  • Develop and maintain effective business relationships with current and potential future customers, based upon an approach of targeting customers with whom the company can profitably do business.
  • Provide timely service, marketing options, agronomic information, and advice to current and potential customers. 
  • Provide technical support and product training for key retailers, distributor sales representatives, and consultants.
  • Keeps informed of competitor activities within the market area and recommends marketing program changes to the team/manager.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
 
Education Requirements

4-year degree in Agriculture, Agribusiness, or other Ag related major

Experience Required

Five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in agri-business and/or other related customer service functions. Equivalent combinations of education and experience, which result in the required level of knowledge, competencies, skills, and abilities, may be considered.
